AexionQ is the entity that holds the contract with the client and runs the design team underneath. The specialist disciplines themselves — fire, M&E, structural, QS, architecture — are delivered by the consortium firms, contracted in for each commission.
The first thing we do on a new commission is select the team. AexionQ holds a core consortium for healthcare and complex-environment work, and engages additional specialists project-by-project where the brief requires.
Selecting the team is itself a service. We test fit-for-purpose, prior relevant experience, geographic reach, current capacity, and — critically — the working chemistry needed to take decisions jointly rather than sequentially. The team is then contracted in by Aexion under terms that align with the client's contract with us.
A named Framework Manager acts as the single point of contact for the contracting authority for the duration of the project, with authority to deal with all matters in relation to the contract.
The duties of the framework manager include overall responsibility for the working relationship with the contracting authority; regular reporting on performance; meetings as and when required to review performance; resolution of disputes, complaints or concerns; and proactive discussion of ways to improve efficiency, reduce cost and improve service delivery.

A lead document controller is designated on every commission, to ensure information received and issued is disseminated to the appropriate parties as and when required.
Design review of information, drawings and specifications, together with coordination of information between all design team members, is critical to ensuring the project meets key programme milestones. Quality control systems are coordinated across the consortium and held to ISO 9001:2015 standards. Information is uploaded under BIM requirements as detailed in the client's Exchange Information Requirements (EIR), where applicable.

Tender stage is run by AexionQ with the QS consortium partner. The output is a coordinated tender pack and a clear recommendation to the client, not a sequence of separate consultant submissions.
Services include preparation of the Bill of Quantities (based on the schedule of works), preparation of the preliminary Health & Safety plan, collation of tender documentation including all supplementary documents, contract preparation, issue of tender, review and evaluation of returns, and the recommendation to the contracting authority.

Stage 4 is where most projects go wrong. AexionQ runs construction stage as a structured supervision exercise — not as ad-hoc site visits.
The methodology includes a pre-construction meeting with the appointed contractor to outline the design and the methodology to be adopted; an in-depth inspection plan with critical benchmarks agreed by the design team; review of contractor site-specific safety statements, RFIs and pre-start; soft start in non-patient or non-occupied areas; RAMS where required; agreed out-of-hours and fall-back arrangements; regular meetings with emphasis on work to date and a look-ahead; tracking of milestones; and progress reports to the client at agreed reporting periods.

BCAR / ancillary certification is coordinated centrally by AexionQ, with third-party verification by an experienced fire engineer drawn from the consortium.
The handover document set includes design certificates, installation certificates, final commissioning certificates, record of variations, handover certificates, O&M manuals, user instructions, training records, and an opinion on compliance in the format agreed with the client. The document set is assembled to a standard the certifier of compliance can accept without re-work.
